Poured from a crowler into a mug, the beer is jet black, with brown highlights around the edges, and a tall, foamy, light, bubbly, tan head. Aromas of roasted mocha, subtle milk chocolate, and earthy highlights. Flavors are heavily roasted coffee forward, rich and bitter, with subtle bittersweet chocolate notes, subtle cream highlights, and earthy undertones. Very roasted and bitter tones, on a smooth, dry body. The aftertaste is all coffee and chocolate, lingering on past the smooth, dry finish. Roasted overtones abound throughout. Solid porter.

Poured a brown, almost black body with one finger khaki head that quickly died. Aroma is mostly roasted malts with minimal sweetness. Sticky, fuller bodied beer that has some minor chocolaty sweetness but is mostly roasted and possible coffee malt driven which leads to a very dry finish.
