L: Had this beer on-tap at The Answer Brewpub, poured into a snifter. Had a murky, dark brown color and an opaque consistency. There was a small amount of foamy, tan-colored head that quickly dissipated. Good lacing.
S: A very enticing, powerful aroma of coffee, malt, bourbon, and hazelnuts.
T: Tasted of a lot of bourbon (not too much), a good amount of malt, a whole bunch of coffee (it throws you for a loop), some hazelnuts, coconuts, caramel, and a tinge of hops as well. Definitely not your typical barleywine flavor (the bourbon, the coffee, etc.), but it's flavorful, complex and enjoyable.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: This is one of those beers that won't appeal to purists, but is an interesting take on the style. Very tasty.
