Poured on-tap at the brewpub in a snifter, the beer is jet black, with a light tan head. Nose of heavily roasted coffee, subtle char, and hints of campfire. Flavors are heavily roasted forward, with a bolt of hazelnut and cream sweetness to break up the bitter coffee backbone. Perfectly balanced, on a smooth, creamy body. The aftertaste is heavily roasted and bitter coffee, and not much else, which is perfect. Smooth, slow, lingering finish. Really good beer.
