Crowler that was filled 2 weeks ago. Look is jet black. Comes out of the crowler with a 'glug'. Smell is roasted malts. Some sweetness. Taste is bourbon, vanilla, coconut, sweet, bangin'. Hides the bourbon well. Practically no carbonation, but it is a 2 week old crowler. This beer hits everything for me. Excited to try the kona and hazelnut

This is my 1st time rating a beer. I received 2 Crowlers poured on 8-12-16. Drank the 1st one on Sunday 8/21 and the 2nd 8/23.

L: Jet Black in appearance and was syrup like to the sight. Both were minimal on carbonation with head a Tan Head about 1mm in height. Could be because it was out of a crowler and as i was not there when it was poured i cannot vouch for what it look like off draft.

S: Vanilla and sweet, yet not an overly sweet smell.

T: Vanilla bourbon character with slight bitterness that fades after 2-3 sips. Toasted flavor with minimal coconut. Sweet yet not too sweet. No heat at anytime and is masked really well for 10.9% ABV.

F: Minimal carbonation with a velvety texture or slightly oil feel. Clean entry and smooth finish.

O: One of the best tasting beers i have had so far. I would recommend this beer for all lovers of Bourbon and Vanilla as it is not an overpowering flavor. Tantalizes the taste buds and leaves you wanting more. Want to say it needs more carbonation, but that may take away from my impression of the beer. Very nice sipping beer that hits you after 20 ozs.

The Answer Virginia should brew and bottle this beer. I would be willing to pick up a few cases if that were possible.

On tap at the brewpub and took two crowlers back to Wisconsin with me. Flat out a great beer. For a nearly 11 % ABV beer it was incredibly smooth. Great balance of flavors and coconut really rounded out the malt.

Poured from a crowler, the beer is jet black, with a thin, foamy, light tan head. Oily thick looking pour. Aromas of toasted coconut, bittersweet cacao nib, richly sweet vanilla, bourbon spice and sweetness, and subtle earthy overtones. Smells like really rich, slightly boozy candy. Flavors are creamy sweet forward, with a solid blend of vanilla, chocolate, coconut, and bourbon, all balanced beautifully. Solid heat from the bourbon follows immediately, with more toasted coconut notes, sugary highlights, and more bittersweet baker's chocolate characteristics. Very smooth and velvety bodied, layered and chewy, with a candy-like chocolate, coconut, and vanilla aftertaste. The finish is velvety smooth, layered thick, and slow to cross the palate, with a solid rich and sweet linger, as well as a slow building warmth. Great beer!
