The beer pours a brownish tan head foam while the beer itself is a very dark brown that resembles black. The texture is coffee like but with a sheen to it.
The smell is like breakfast. It has a combination of subdued maple syrup underneath everything including spice notes such ginger and cinnamon with a pancake like note. There isn't much smoke or chili in the smell.
The taste is fantastic. It has the same tasting notes as the smell but there is also a slight chili in the aftertaste.
The feel consist of a heavy body with a slight syrupy texture and a spice burn in the finish.
Fantastic beer.

L: Had this beer on-tap at The Answer Brewpub, poured into a pint glass. Had a black color and an opaque consistency. There was an inch of creamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.
S: A big aroma of malt, coffee, maple syrup, and bacon.
T: Tasted of a good amount of coffee, a tinge of cinnamon, lots of smoky bacon notes (definitely a new one to me), lots of maple syrup, and a bunch of ancho chili peppers. Another slightly unusual flavor from an Answer beer that somehow manages to work. Quite tasty and strangely complex.
F: A good shot of carbonation with a lively (thanks to the chilis) finish. Full-bodied.
O: I doubt this beer will appeal to everyone, but if you're feeling adventurous, give this a try. Quite tasty.
