The Answer Brewpub "Black Forest Seduction"
$4.50 / 6 oz. at the brewery on 17 June 2017
Note: brewed with cocoa nibs and Montmorency cherries.
Appearance: Black-brown body beneath a creamy tan head that holds well and leaves some nice lacing behind.
Smell: Dark chocolate, coffee, and sugary cherry.
Taste: Richer than the aroma suggests with more clear cherry flavor although it's still in the background of the chocolate. It's sweetish but not "sweet", and not sticky or cloying. Black Forest cake? Yes, that'd be a good descriptor of the chocolatey maltiness. It finishes with lingering chocolate and cherry not unlike a chocolate covered cherry.
Feel: Full-medium in body, and smooth and creamy with a moderate, fine-bubbled carbonation.
Overall: An impressive dessert beer, although you can certainly drink it anytime you want.
