Notes:
The beer pours a brown and foamy head while the beer itself is a coffee black with a nice and shiny surface and slightly oily appearance to it.
The smell and taste contain a delicious mix of bitter notes from the original blend and the additions made by the brewery. The coffee notes dominate the smell and taste while punctured with hints of sweet hazelnut and toasted coconut. The macadamia nuts add a hint of vanilla sweetness to it but is barely noticeable among the various balanced spices such cinnamon and ginger as well as honey from the base beer.
The feel has a heavy body with a light carbonation and thick texture.
Overall, a great unofficial GBS variant that works well with the season.

From tasting notes 11/09/18
Had on-tap at The Answer Brewpub in Richmond, VA
Appearance - Served up in a 10oz stemless, black in color with a tan, creamy looking half finger width head. Retention for days before finally settling to a consistent film across the surface.
Smell - The aroma is an interesting blend of chocolate, ginger spice, earth and toasted coconut.
Taste - Follows the nose. Fudgy chocolate base accentuated by notes of toasted coconut, lesser ginger spice and then an earthen coffee roast as it reaches the finish. Aftertaste is long and lingers mostly with fudge, mild roastiness and a hint of that toasted coconut.
Mouthfeel - Full bodied with low carbonation. Thick, and creamy as hell. Goes perfectly with the flavor profile.
Overall - As great as the flavor is, that body is perfect for whats presented here. Maybe the best gingerbread stout I've had, regardless of brewer or variation.

L: Had this beer on-tap at The Answer Brewpub, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark brown / black color and an opaque texture. There was a half inch of creamy, tan-colored head that lasted an average amount of time. OK lacing.
S: An alluring aroma of nuts, coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt.
T: Tasted of a bit of roasted malt, some light chocolate (could have used a smidge more), a lot of hazelnuts, a bit of macadamia nuts, and a hint of coconut. The interplay of the coffee and nuts seems to work extremely well. More low key than some stouts, but tasty nonetheless.
F: A solidly carbonated beer with a smooth finish. Medium- to full-bodied.
O: This is a very tasty, well made, easy to drink stout. Definitely drinkable.
