L: Had this beer on-tap at The Answer Brewpub, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark brown / black color and an opaque texture. There was a half inch of foamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.
S: A decent aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, and a burnt quality.
T: Tasted of moderate amount of roasted malt (mostly in the finish), a fair shot of chocolate, some coffee notes (not as noticeable), and a lot of char. This last element is problematic for the flavor. The char tends to overpower some of the other ingredients. Nonetheless, it's not a bad flavor.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a surprisingly dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Kind of an uneven beer in many respects. Despite this, it's still drinkable.
