The beer pours a very dark brown and bubbly head. The beer itself is a pitch black.
The smell and taste consist of a strong, bitter, and roasted dark chocolate note with a moderate bourbon note in the finish and underneath the main notes. There also some light bittersweet vanilla notes from the beans that come out in the taste.
The feel is good with a heavy body but thin texture to it and light carbonation.
Indulgent and very drinkable.

COD 123017 Roasted coffee nose, flavors are complex coffee liqueur and roasted, nutty finish. Underlying caramel is nice.

L: Had this beer on-tap at the Answer Brewpub, poured into a snifter glass. Had a jet black color and a completely opaque consistency. There was a small amount of foamy head that quickly dissipated. Average lacing.
S: A very nice aroma of coffee, roasted malt, vanilla, and chocolate.
T: Tasted of bit of bourbon (not too much), some roasted malt, a ton of coffee, some light chocolate notes, a tinge of vanilla, and light hops in the finish. The flavor is very much dominated by the coffee. It's also less sweet than the Answer's other stouts (particularly the Andalls). Still, it's quite tasty.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a super smooth finish. Medium- to full-bodied.
O: An extremely enjoyable beer, especially for those who love coffee stouts. Drinkable.
