On-tap at The Answer Brewpub, Richmond, VA
A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with no head whatsoever.
S: Moderate aromas of rum and bourbon from the barrel aging are preset in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has strong flavors of rum and bourbon mixed with notes of coffee and hazelnuts. It is rather sweet.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and a little slick on the palate and has a low to moderate amount of carbonation. There is some warming sensations from the alcohol.
O: This beer tastes very boozy from the rum and bourbon but that along with the sweetness are the only clouds that you get about its strength. Otherwise it manages to hide the taste of alcohol very well.

L: Had this on-tap at The Answer Brewpub, poured into a snifter glass. Had a jet black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a thin, creamy, tan-colored head that quickly dissipated. Not much lacing.
S: A very enticing aroma of coconut, malt, coffee, bourbon, and nuts.
T: Tasted of a mild bit of malt (only in the finish), lots of coconut, some bourbon, a bit of rum (not as strong as the bourbon), some coffee, and a variety of nuts (hazelnuts, macadamias). This is a rich, complex and powerful flavor. It's slightly boozy, but that's negligible. Delicious stuff.
F: A solid amount of carbonation with a silky smooth finish. Full-bodied.
O: A highly enjoyable stout. Very much worth a look.
