The Answer Brewpub Corporate Severance Package. 6.5% dry hopped with Citra. Pours a very hazy yellow orange with a 2 plus finger sticky white head that leaves thin streaks of lace canned on 12/23/18. 4.5

Smell is papaya, passionfruit, pineapple, and white grapefruit rind. 4

Taste follows a little more pungent than the nose, papaya, pineapple, passionfruit, and a little bitter grapefruit on the back end, but actually very well balanced. 4.25

Mouthfeel is a solid medium, soft gentle carbonation, a little sticky but not dry, and at 6.5% very drinkable and drinks as it should. 4

Overall this is a very nice NEIPA, I should have drank it sooner, but was hoping to share it with a friend. 4

From tasting notes 11/09/18
Had on-tap at The Answer in Richmond, VA

Appearance - Served up into a 10oz stemless, hazy and golden yellow in color. Mostly barren surface with a razor thin, broken layer of suds found around the edge of the glass. Not much for lace.

Smell  -  Citrusy and yeasty. Peach and some light cattiness.

Taste - Follows the nose. Citrus and peach juiciness with a yeasty undertone. Mid-taste brings some faint earth and a hint of cattiness. Finish lingers with peach, orange and lesser cattiness.

Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair, tingly carbonation. Slick, easy drinker upfront before a dry, chalky and slightly harsh finish.

Overall - Decent hazy, but maybe too much yeast influence? Not big on that prominent chalky finish.

Poured a light-gold body with flowing head and lace patches. Floral, earthy, almost perfume-like aroma. Citric and juicy, light, floral, sweet, grapefruit not quite tropical fruit sweetness, balanced with no bitterness and a clean finish so its easy to drink.

L: Poured from a crowler to a snifter glass. Had an orange-yellow color and a thick, cloudy consistency. There was an inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.

S: A solid aroma of hops, citrus and tropical fruits, and some malt.

T: Tasted of some mild malt notes (not overly pronounced), lots of citrus fruit (orange, it would seem), lots of hops (not overdone, though), and lots of tropical fruit (mango, perhaps). This is a sweet, fruity, and zesty flavor. It's well-balanced between the fruit elements (which it has lots of), and the hops. Much more subtle than I expected, but still tasty.

F: A well-carbonated beer with a lively finish. Medium-bodied.

O: An extremely likable NE IPA. Worth a try.
