L: Had this beer on-tap at The Answer Brewpub, poured into a snifter glass. Had a jet black color and a thick consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, tan-colored, long-lasting head. Average lacing.
S: A solid aroma of chili peppers, malt, coffee, chocolate, and maple syrup.
T: Tasted of a moderate amount of malt (present throughout), light chocolate notes (not too much), some maple syrup, lots of coffee (a dominant force), and a good shot of chili peppers in the finish. A much more subtle and smooth flavor than expected. The chili peppers add a unique dimension to it, but the coffee is the real star.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a warm, sharp finish. Medium-bodied.
O: A solidly made, easy to drink stout. Worth a look.
