L: Had this beer on-tap at The Answer Brewpub, poured to a snifter glass. Had a jet black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a thin, tan-colored head that quickly dissipated. Good lacing.
S: A very good aroma of malt, bourbon, coffee, hops, and marshmallows.
T: Tasted of a decent shot of coffee (not as much as expected), some malt (present throughout), lots of bourbon (and its accompanying barrel), light chocolate notes, some hops, and a hint of marshmallows. An interesting take on the barleywine flavor. It's as boozy as you get, but the other ingredients balance it out. Pretty tasty.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a sharp finish. Full-bodied.
O: A big, bracing American barleywine. Worth a look.
