On tap at The Answer in Richmond, VA.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a tiny head and not much lacing. It looks oily and syrupy.
This smells like caramelized brown sugar, banana pudding, coffee, and chocolate syrup.
This has such a syrupy and crazily cloying taste to it. It’s kind of hard to enjoy, honestly. You get the flavors you expect, but it’s just like drinking straight chocolate syrup. It’s not even close to tasting like actual stout.
This is syrupy and way too heavy, with basically no carbonation. It’s hard to drink.
I just don’t understand the love for these beers.

L: Had this beer on-tap at The Answer Brewpub, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a half inch of creamy, tan-colored, long-lasting head. Very good lacing.
S: An incredibly enticing aroma of bananas, chocolate, malt, marshmallows, and brown sugar.
T: Tasted of a whole bunch of chocolate (very prominent), a good shot of marshmallows (always nice), some brown sugar, a lot of bananas, a little malt (present throughout), and slight burnt quality. An exceptionally rich and powerful flavor. It manages to balance out the chocolate and bananas quite well. Delicious.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a silky smooth finish. Full-bodied.
O: An extremely enjoyable, well done stout. Drinkable.
