On tap at The Answer Brewpub in Richmond, VA.
This one pours a thick and syrupy looking dark black color, with a small head and no lacing.
This smells like melted chocolate ice cream, caramelized sugar, and coffee creamer.
Even without “adjuncts” added, this is still just disgustingly sweet. There’s a sugary and oily taste to this, with cheap melted milk chocolate flavor. It’s so hard to drink.
This is thick and just hard to get down - honestly gross. There’s no drinkability to it.
The hype for The Answer seems to be mostly unwarranted.

L: Had this beer on-tap at The Answer Brewpub, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, tan-colored, long-lasting head. Good lacing.
S: A solid aroma of malt, chocolate, a creamy quality, and coffee.
T: Tasted of small amount of coffee (could've used more), a bit of chocolate (just enough), some malt notes (present throughout), and some of the creamy quality. A solid enough flavor that grows on you as you go along. It's not as aggressive of a flavor as some of The Answer's stouts, but it has a good balance to it.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: In general, a well done stout. Worth a try.
