Off the tap this beer was a pale straw gold color. The head was one finger and white, displayed great retention especially as a collar and left scattered lacing. The aroma was soft, floral hops, pale malt, hints of grain and citrus. The flavors were bigger and showed great balance. It started with caramel malt and some toffee-like sweetness which was then tempered by floral hops, some bitterness and fruity alcohol esters. A little of the 'heat' appeared as it warmed. A little odd but good. The body was medium, the mouthfeel slightly watery and the carbonation again too soft as often happened at the place. I was told this beer started as a stab at an Imperial Pilsner but they changed the style after they hopped it more and tweaked the finish.
