Off the tap at the brewery this beer was a dark mahogany color (nearly brown? For an IPA? Really?). The head was tan, one-finger large, retained itself as a skim and left some lacing, but not much to speak of. The aroma was a mix of floral and citrus hops with some toasted malt underneath that. The flavors were excellent. They started on a highly floral note, almost jasmine-like, then went into grapefruit and orange peel notes that added tanginess. The bitterness was pleasant but not overwhelming and it was counterbalanced by a solid malt backbone. Great balance in general. The body was medium, the mouthfeel soft and slightly oily, the carbonation however was a little too soft.
