After frequenting the shop for years, when Maltose originally expanded to this larger warehouse, I asked when they were going to start a brewery. They didnt have plans at the time, but it was clear to me that it was on the horizon and I am really happy it has come through to fruition. I have only had 3 beers here , but they have all been great. There is no secret that the beers are well made here , with years of experience brewing on smaller systems.
A: Poured a clear, slightly straw colored yellow with some fine bubbles on top.
S: Aromas of fruity yeast esters, 2 row malt and some citrus flavors along with pine
T: Mixture of a few different hop varieties here. I am told that there are mosaic hops inside and these stuck out the most to me, however there are also some Citra hops and the third variety escapes me. For some reason, Mosiac hops have evaded me, I cannot explain why, maybe they do not do as well solo, or maybe the complimentary flavors of the other hops in this batch were just right. In any case, this really hit the spot for me and was the only beer I had that day. Pale malt flavors as well as a nice caramelized sugar base really rounded the beer out and there was not an overly strong hop or sweet presence, the balance seemed just right.
F: Light , dry and definitely not 5.9%, but perfect carbonation.
O: I had a different IPA here on the opening day , and it was also very good. Fresh , nicely balanced and I believe slightly lower in abv, but this one takes the cake. Clearly a winner and one I should be getting a growler of on my next visit. Well done and welcome to the community Veracious , cant wait to visit more.
