A- Pours a golden yellow hue, with plenty of yeast haze....nuances of orange and copper tones in the background. There is plenty of wee tight, aggressively rising fizz, which produces a three finger thick super white foam head that settles quickly into a light film over top the brew. The lacing is nice too, showing small circular patches of foam that cling to the inside of the glass! Looks the part, that's for sure!
S- Orchard fruits, blended with citrus zest form the initial aromas, before a second smell produces sweet vanilla creme, sweet bread dough, some yeasty notes, smooth grapey Chardonnay butter like quality, grassy grainy malts, and a slightly hopped up bitter finish.....overall there is nothing in your face about the aromas, but rather well rounded character.
T- This is a real thirst quenching brew! Notes of peach, apricot and nectarine flesh and pits, alongside muted citrus zest, creamy vanilla, bread yeast, mild Chardonnay butteriness, slight oak, caramel and crystal malt sweetness. The finish is of grassy dry nuances and mild hop bitterness.....simply a pleasure to enjoy on the palate!
M/O- Light in body and there is a lot of zingy tight bubbly zest to allow the flavors to 'burst' on the palate! The 6.1% alcohol is hidden well, and the softness of the Chardonnay barrel aging really makes this a nice variety to the Belgian blonde style! Highly drinkable and easy going, this one is a winner! Cheers to Fernie Brewing!
