Pours a very dark brown pushing near black with a finger of creamy tan coloured head.
Nose is caramel, toffee, vanilla, and notes of molasses - dark fruits - raisins and figs, and hints of the rum barrel.
Malty and sweet on the palate - brown sugar, molasses, caramel and vanilla admixed with raisin and date - boozy warmth though not specifically pick out rum.
Full though not thick mouthfeel - decent carbonation that faded over sipping - boozy warmth and sweetness without being cloying.
Well done.
