Bottle has been in the cellar since 09/2013....lets see!
A- This pours a truly mudded up rusty color that reminds me of a 70 yr old Massey Ferguson laying dormant in farmer Johns' field! The head seems to be fairly relaxed, as it rises to the top of the liquid, right underneath the caramel colored head. This head, starts out about one finger thick, and is somewhat fizzy, dissipating into a thin layer within a reasonably short time frame. Lacing seems to be fairly impressive, with the bulk of the foam found clinging to the inside of the glass. Not bad overall....
S- This definitely doesn't smell of blood, but rather of deep dark wheat grains and heavy toasty malt.....background notes of banana, bread and lots of yeast, and even some muted baked apple aromas! The finish is heavy, brown sugar sweet and lingers on the nostrils.
T- This is exceptionally malty and big on the palate, with lots of deep molasses, toffee, caramel and brown sugar sweetness. This is followed up by mild banana peel, bread yeasts and butter cracker, vanilla, milk chocolate, wheat grain liveliness, and an overall underlying tone of nuttiness. This is quite a bold flavored brew!
M/O- This is velvety smooth on the mouthfeel and the aging process has done this well! The carbonation has likely mellowed over time and just allows the malty flavors to coat the tongue nicely.....as well, the 7.5% alcohol has blended in exceptionally well and is non-existent...like, where is it! Highly sociable and great to enjoy with good company. It goes perfectly well with a Euro inspired salami and cheese platter, followed up by 70% dark chocolate.....I would love to have this experience again and highly recommend anyone whos been holding onto a bottle to just let it sit....you won't be disappointed!

A - slightly hazy ruby brown, two fingers of off white head retained nicely
S - grainy and blood like aromas dominate, slightly nutty
T - big malty notes of molasses, almonds, and a mineral blood like flavour, some grains and mild raisins as well
M - relatively full, sticky, slightly musty, finishes fairly full
O - a nice offering from Fernie, its not a mind blower but a nice big bodies brew that's nice on a cold evening

Appearance - Pours a hazy copper with a finger width of bubbly beige head.
Smell - Caramalts, light banana, clove, wheat, plum.
Taste - Bready caramalts, plum, clove, and a touch of banana. Flavour kind of falls off at the finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Maybe a tad thin. A little sticky.
Overall - A weizenbock that has the right elements in place, but the flavours kind of taper off at the end. Good on Fernie for taking a go at this style.

650ml bottle. 'Rusty Tractor'? A lot of farm equipment in the mountain towns these days? I have to assume that, what with the lack of standard expository marketing blurb on the label.
This beer pours a hazy, dark orange-ish burnt amber colour, with three fingers of puffy, foamy, and bubbly pale tan head, which leaves some decent bleeding limestone cliffs lace around the glass as it duly recedes.
It smells of bready, grainy caramel malt, pureed banana, faintly spicy pepper and clove, and a bit of tropical fruitiness. The taste is more sweet bready cereal grain malt - the wheatiness gaining some ground on the caramel by this point, the mushed banana notes tailing off somewhat, taking the earthy spices with them, and a softly warming booziness rising to meet me halfway.
The bubbles are present, and fairly genteel in their bearing, the body an adequate medium weight, and mostly smooth, with even a small twinge of creaminess. It finishes sweet, the multigrain malt pretty much left in charge, with a fruity alcohol edge contributing to the cause.
A so-so drinkable version of the style, nothing actually off, but it all lacks a certain oomph, mostly in the flavour, and maybe in the mouthfeel as well. I hate that I can't really detail why, but sometimes the so-called gut just knows. Kind of plain, I guess, though the elevated ABV is well obscured.

A murky brownish amber with no visible bubbles and just a short lived thick film even after an angry pour, just a single thick ring of lace
S smells true to style with some bruised banana, clove, candied and canned pineapple, faint bubblegum, and some dry cereals, just a little brown sugar and spice I can't place as it warms
T more fruity notes and the cereals a little soggy, some booze I wasn't smelling and a pretty big step back from the nose
M a little flat and lifeless, its thick liquid but needs carbonation, a little coco on the finish surprises me, just a little heat
O smells good but doesn't quite follow through elsewhere, not a bad beer but there's room for improvement
I had high hopes after putting my nose to this one but nothing really happened afterwards. I doubt I'd buy it again but would drink it if handed to me.
