Received as an extra in a trade. Canned on 8/18/18
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice slightly hazy pale gold with a good one finger white head that faded slowly to leave a light sudsy blanket with a creamy halo.
S - Aromas of citrus peel, zest, lemon, citrus oil, little bit of wheat. Little bit of bright 'zip' going on with the citrus, which in that regard also means it does not smell juicy.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with a little bit of citrus peel, lemons, very very light valencia orange. Getting a grainy note. Finish is slightly bitter. Doesn't really taste like a New England IPA, but, comes across as something I'd expect from Clown Shoes or maybe even Sam Adams. The citra hops don't really pop much at all.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, crisp, but the body is on the thinner side.
O - Overall this was an incredibly lackluster IPA. I'm not sure if it's the age on it, but, I'd think that it would hold up a bit better than this. Really unfortunate.
