Initial impression of a 16 fl oz can:
Lychee. Mango. Nectarine. Not very balanced. Hop profile is underwhelming.

08/04/20 2nd can impressions:
"Double IPA with Citra, Cashmere, and Centennial hops."
A: Pours a somewhat murky dark dull yellow. Lifeless and lacking vibrance. Head is off-white and not particularly creamy or robust, but its ~2cm of height holds for a good 6 minutes which is impressive at 8% ABV.
Looks well carbonated, but it's not a dazzling appearance for an IIPA overall.
SM: Vague tropical fruit. 2-row pale malt sweetness. Floral hop aromatics.
Lacks the pine I'd expect in a great Centennial hopped beer and the citrus I'd expect in a great Citra hopped beer. Judging by the aroma which suggests a tropical fruit-driven expression of the style, Cashmere dominates but isn't particularly well showcased.
T/Mf: Coating with a bit of a silky smoothness that reduces the perceived flavour duration and depth. Cashmere hops bring lemon, warm pineapple, papaya, and vague tropical fruit. Literally all I get from Citra/Centennial is vague floral hop flavour...what a waste of two of my favourite hops.
It's balanced I guess, but its hop profile just doesn't shine - and that's the point of the style. Its ABV is well disguised to its credit, but I can't get past the mediocrity of its hop profile.
OVERALL: A forgettably mediocre stab at an imperial IPA. I'd rather save money buying superior widely distributed expressions of the style like Lagunitas Sucks. Mundane fare from Pontoon.
