This German style tart ale has 700lbs of fresh pineapple and tart cherry puree. Kettle soured with lactobacillus, this tart beer embodies the perfect dessert inspired sour. The pineapple and tart cherries are added during the secondary fermentation to create a juicy, yet tart, sour beer that is bursting with flavor.

L: Hazy yellow to orange, 1 inch white head that dissipates quickly, no lacing
S: Fruity
T: Sweet, juicy, sour but not as much as most of the style
F: Light with good carbonation
O: Not my style but one of the better sours that Ive had. Like I mentioned, not as sour as most. Has a nice sweetness with a subtle sourness.

Aroma is fruit/berries and pineapple/hint of apples. The flavor is fresh pineapple/hint of sugar, malts, slightly oily and a medium sweet/tart finish.

Not really a sour or even a berliner weisse to be honest but not bad at all. Easy to drink but not the most complex or memorable you'll ever have. Certainly not a had effort and could be worth repeats depending on the situation

Crushing Waves has a thin, white head and a mostly clear, yellow-gold appearance, with no lacing. The aroma is of sourdough bread with slight fruit. The flavor is the same, with significant tartness. Bread takes the lead. There is no detected bitterness, here. Crushing Waves has a medium body and a slightly-slick mouthfeel. One will notice a dry finish.

12 oz can from Martin's in NOLA, dated 10/21/20, into Batch 19 Pint Glass.

Has a hazy gold appearance with a fuzzy cap of 1 finger.

Aroma is a mixture of expired fruits, wet grain, and sour urinal cake. Edit : 2nd can is grain, pineapple, cherries, and hay. updated scores.

Flavor is like a tasty, semi-sweet pineapple upside down cake. It's not represented on the can, but that's what you get here. Some soda bread, lots of stringy pineapple, whipped cream, and cherries. Tasty stuff.

Feel is light and wet, with lots of carbonation, no heat, near zero dryness.

Overall, it doesn't give waves of pleasure, but you can crush the can on your forehead. So that's something. I would buy a 6 pack of this next time I encountered it.

Price paid : $1.55 / can

$1.55 USD plus tax for a 12 fl oz pull-tab can at a beer store in New Orleans, LA.

"Berliner style weisse with tart cherries and pineapples." 5.1% ABV. 8 IBUs. "Ale."

Pineapple isn't really a great choice of fruit to throw in a Berliner weisse, and the cherry isn't very noticeable. Tastes boozier than it is and isn't too refreshing. Too sweet.
