Our first Belgian quad, layered with real Vermont maple syrup to create a rich base, adorned with notes of light brown sugar, ripe figs, and robust molasses. Big in body and sweet to the finish, this quad hits on all the areas that you would want and then some with the subtle layer of real maple syrup.

Quad Stack has a thin, yellowish head, an opaque, tan appearance, some sediment chunks, and minimal lacing. The aroma is of golden raisin, with faint maple syrup. The flavor is similar, with strong booze notes and grain husks. Quad Stack has low bitterness and a heavy body, with a medium sweet-to-dry finish.

Finally, I've reached my final review can from my last beer trip. I haven't been reviewing that particular case of beer religiously, so I've been slacking a bit. This one ended up being the last guy at the back of the fridge. Unfortunately there's maple here so hopefully it's not too faded.

No canning date, purchased in March of 2021, poured into brandy snifter.

Scarlet red with hues of mahogany, no head whatsoever.

Aroma of Belgian dark sugars and a little maple. Some wonderful plummy Special B malt comes swinging at the nose as well.

Flavor is unfortunately pretty non-existent. I'm not sure if it's faded, or if it was never there to begin with. I get some of that plum and dark fruit from the malts and sugars, a little dried apricot, and some tiny banana from the yeast. As it's sipped the flavors gain more traction and my brain registers more Quad. For sure though, this does not taste like any 11% beer I'd revisit. (Edit : as it warms to room temp the flavors come out more, score bumped)

Feel is overcarbonated and thin, not sure if it's due to the age, but I detect no oxidation either so I suspect the canning was solid. Drying finish, numbs the tongue and lips, burns less than it should (good), with slight stickiness on the finish and more sandpaper dryness.

Overall, a disappointing effort but this is also proof to me that I should scale back my beer hauls a bit. It's possible this was a great beer (well, 3.85 average so maybe not) but I let it go too long. Always disappointing especially when it might have been a monster of a beer. I have nothing else to go on but I'll give it a little benefit and bump up the overall a titch.

Gets better as it warms. Probably not a re-buy though.

Pours a light brown with a light tan head that falls fast no real lace.

Aroma is maple syrup and vanilla, overrides the light hints of dark fruit and pull the sweetness up artificially instead of just relying on the malts.

Taste is like the nose its sweet , but again it is helped by the adjuncts. Maybe not call it a quad? There is some light spiciness from the yeast I hope but it's over shadowed by the adjuncts. Over all not a horrible beer maybe just not digging the bastardizing of a classic style? Want a sweet beer with maple and vanilla this is your jam.

Mouthfeel is only medium might seem lighter which is weird for the abv.

Overall don't but this expecting a quad, had a few local Belgian Brews not quite to style but this is leaps and bounds from those.

Excellent quad. The addition of maple syrup and vanilla give the beer a special character. With warming a sharper finish. Best in a Quad glass.

Honey color. Apricot notes to smell. At first taste, honey notes. When the beer meets the back of the palate, hints of pepper. Not overly hoppy. Feels full. Very good overall.

Look: Pretty inviting golden/red color with a thin head and nice lacing. No cloudiness visible from the lactose.
Smell and Taste: Heavy on the sweet Maple
Feel: Crisp in the mouth but somewhat acidic once it's down
Overall: To many better quads and quads I've yet to try on the shelf. Probably pass it up in the future. It is new and I couldn't fine if it is year round or not so I guessed.
