We don’t mean to brag but be prepared for a tasty treat! We took our base berliner weisse recipe and added a heaping amount of tart cherries, Madagascar vanilla, a little bit of cinnamon and nutmeg and lactose, to create a cherry cobbler inspired sour beer that gives you a little bit of sweet, some great tartness and a smooth finish.

16 oz can, no date, from Martin's in NOLA.
$3.99 / can.
"Berliner Style Weiss with Cherry, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Vanilla, and Lactose"
Into Bearded Iris Tulip.
Has a glowing cherry-watermelon color, with a fuzzy creamy cap of 1 finger. Leaves loops as it recedes.
Aroma is faint. Slight urinal cake. Hints of Cherry Kool-aid.
Flavor brings cherry and lemon gummies, with some sugary crust and slight cream on the finish. A shot of clean water. This could really use more flavor. Slight tart strawberry coming up on further sips.
Feel is wet and highly carbonated, with some palpable sugars; slight heat, and a biting acidic finish.
Overall, not the monster I thought it would be. "Cobbler" is not something that comes to mind when I drink this beer, but it is sweeter than most sours, so will please you in that manner. Heavy on the cherry gummy and lemon gummy. Go in with that mindset, with slight sweetbreads/sweet crust. For its cost, there are better sours. Would not revisit at its price.
