Appearance: Pours a nearly completely dark/black color with a massive tan head that lingers and is pillowing. SRM of 22. (4.25)

Aroma: Strong aromas of black malt, bread, dark roast. Some lightly earthy and floral aromas. Dry chocolate lingers underneath. (3.75)

Flavor: Strong falvors of semisweet chocolate, black malt, dark bread upfront along with a semi bittersweet chocolate and roastedness. Floral and earthy sweetness with bittersweet chocolate linger off the end for a semisweet finish. (3.75)

Feel: Medium-bodied, average carbonation. Finishes semi-roasted, bitter, and sweet. (3.50)

Overall: Very enjoyable Czech dark here. First beer I've had from this brewery so nice to get the distribution. It has bittersweet chocolate and roasted flavors mostly. Not as bready as I expected. European hops give a florla nd earthy sweetness. Almost drinks more like an English Porter or English Milk Stout than a Czech Dark. Gets more sour as it warms. (Rating: 3.71)

Czech Under the Bed has a thick, beige head and a very dark-brown appearance, with lots of lacing. The aroma is of brown-bread crust and the flavor of that, along with mild bitterness. Some hop resin is present. Czech Under the Bed has a medium body and a dry finish. RJT

16oz can. No dating information found.
Dark brown colored body, with some garnet red back lit highlights. Two fingers of tan head, which sticks around as a thick cap and ring. Leaves behind some partial sheets of lacing.
Aroma of dark roasted malts and chocolate.
Taste is big with roasted barley malt, which yields a flavor of chocolate and grain. Earthy hop presence. Bitterness is low. Stays sweet in the aftertaste.
Slightly thinner than medium mouth feel. Clean finish. Very good carbonation.
Roasty and malty, with a earthy hop touch.

16 fl oz can ran $3.49 USD plus tax at a beer store in New Orleans, LA:

Caramel, malted milk balls/liquefied Whoppers, high residual sugars, high malt sweetness, hints of toast.

Smooth, full-bodied, unrefreshing, wet, well carbonated.

A hum-ho stab at a Tmavy in my book, not quite even fitting traditional style conventions if strict adherence is demanded of it. Still, for an American attempt at the style, it's on the high side of average.
