Had this one on tap last time I was visiting the desert. It poured a nice medium brown with little head. Very modest smell - hints of sweet and some earthy tones. Taste was surprizing. Very strong character of a peaty, almost smoked flavor. Very light on the hops, almost totally burried in the malt and earthy domminance of the ale. Easy to drink; I could easily have a couple over dinner (and did!).
Note - I had this brew on two consequtive nights at High Desert Brewing. The first night, the peat flavor was domminant and glorious, the next, it was rather subduded. The wait staff claimed it was from the same keg. Not really sure how to explain it...
