Poured from a inch or so above the glass gives you a medium sized light brown head over a clear deep rich cherry wood colored beer, that just sits below a slow dying head.

The aroma is a roasted malt with quite a bit of dark roasted fruits like prunes or apricots coming through.

The taste is more of the roasted almost burnt malt with the roasted prune/apricot lingering on, it also adds just a little of the hops bitterness that the Dark IPA name suggests.

The medium body leaves a dryish aftertaste that offers more hops bitterness than the taste did, and yet there is some of the roasted malt hanging around.

A pretty decent beer and pretty much unlike anything I've tried lately, I hope they continue to try different stuff like this.
