Rhiannon was the Celtic queen of witches and horses. She is also our first daughter, and the beer that started this all. It is a malt showcase: not overly sweet, but complex with a bready body. Hops are certainly present, with a floral character that is reminiscent of Rhiannon Red Ale stone fruits.

The beer is muddy brown with old penny copper highlights (SRM 17-19). A light beige froth forms a tight half inch after falling from two inches.
The aroma is filled with mallard toasted malt. Fruity yeast similar to apple cider leads to warm butter.
This one is more bitter than I had expected, with a decent sweetness following. The toasted malt and butter stand out front with fruit being much duller than suggested by the aroma. The finish starts mild then suddenly builds and quickly fades.
Alcohol is below expectations. It has a soft carbonation, silky texture, and medium body. Astringency is modest and overall it is quite dry.
This is a pleasant summer afternoon beer which I enjoyed from a big, chunky glass mug while out back. It would probably go best with friends and casual conversation.

Reddish amber liquid with a mild haze, translucent, close to no head. Nose offers both biscuit and more firming unprocessed grains, hint of raisin or fig, grassiness gets more prominent as it warms, clean and fresh, does what it does then doesn't wait around aimlessly. Close to full-bodied, the fine carbonation pushes it outwards. The malts add roundness and pair well with that more grassy bite and crisp cracker. On the dry side, flavorful without being too sweet. Mix of cherry, apricot flavors with that same fig or date thing. High score for drinkability and staying true to style. Recommend. (Bottled September 2024)
