Pours an aggressive 2-3 finger head, deep tan, mottled surface, good retention. Big time smokiness to the nose, roasted meats and mocha, cigar leaf, mild grapey notes, stiffens well to penetrate deeper into the nostrils, lots going on. Medium-bodied, oddly given the visuals, the carbonation comes across as on the mild side. Remains super smoky and roasted, increased metallic notes. No real fruit presence which I can discern. Can seem like licking cocoa powder. Richness and weight persist fully to the end. Then a fair amount of retronasal presence. Needs a warm fire and a good book for accompaniment, meant to be sipped slowly over time.
