bought a growler from Syosset beverage, Surprisingly thin and little carbonation.its the blackest beer ive seen to date.smells bitter and unfortunately tastes even more bitter, almost sour. Im a huge fan of bourbon aged stouts and this isnt a terrible beer, but does not even compare with a very good bourbon aged stout.

Thick with zero carbonation. Amazing aroma of coffee and bourbon. The flavor, however, doesn't map to those aromas at all. The beer is unbelievably sour, from first sip through the finish, and was very unpleasant. Maybe I got a bad batch?

A: black oilslick of ale; center-pour into a snifter produced naught but a slim edge of mocha that vanished in a blink; slightly oily sheen left behind on the glass...

S: strong bitter black coffee aromas; some hints of molasses and oak, something like licorice/anise, with but slight hints of vanilla...

T: up-front bitter black coffee with a sweet edge of blackstrap molasses and dark chocolate; bourbon barrels and booze suggest oak and whiskey, vanilla and a hint of char; finishing notes of fading anise...

M: very slick and smooth - no carbonation that I could detect; a little on the thin side, but I've noted that with some other barrel-aged stouts, too; fading notes of bitter coffee and oak...

O: a very nice barrel-aged stout - limited and local, this isn't going mainstream anytime in the foreseeable future, but it made for nice drinking...
