The red color in this Irish red ale is surprisingly dark, requiring a light behind the glass to see the red. The smell is sweet, but there's an element that is different than the standard malty sweetness that oddly reminds me of a subway restaurant. The taste is definitely sweet, but again doesn't have the usual maltiness. It's a mostly clean mouthfeel not much stickiness.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a semi-muddy burnt orange color about it. Mild finger’s worth of white foamy head quickly dissipated and left some sliding lace. The aroma had some soft sweet nuts with a touch of roast to them. Then a supple floral to grassy to herbal hoppy quality rolls in for a decent balance. Light toast and then some caramel/toffee malts. The flavor educates the hops with a big flowingly smooth to sweet maltiness. Subtle amounts of damp bread equate to the rest of the flavor and then come together to ride on into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt spot on. Overall, nicely done Irish red ale that I would be willing to have again.
