Enjoyed at The Beer Research Institute in Mesa, AZ. POUR: On tap poured into an 8oz tulip glass. APPEARANCE: Dark amber in color. No real head to speak of. Most of any residual head is around the edges of the glass. Some glass lacing is present but in sparse amounts. No real bubbles or carbonation. The brew is very still and dark. Upon a glass swirl, the head builds but recedes quickly. Head color is off-white. AROMA: Dank hop aroma comes through immediately. There is some subtle stone fruit-like qualities but it is dominated by the hop character. TASTE: Very nice and subtle candied mango notes. Not overpowering and could be a little more pronounced for my taste. Very high ABV at 9% which contributes to a little burn on the tongue. Otherwise hidden quite well...surprising. AFTERTASTE: A little bit more alcohol burn comes through on the back end. finishes somewhat clean with not much else going on in the end besides a bit of light mango. NOTES: Interesting beer. At 9% it is a big time IPA. However, at 85 IBU it does not come off that bitter. Reminiscent of a watermelon Jolly Rancher. Besides the small amount of burn, i could not tell it was that high of an ABV. Aroma is nice but nothing to write home about. Taste is good with real nice hints of mango. Could have been a bit more definitive in that regard. RESULT/RATING: Good / 3.24 out of 5.

Double IPA brewed with mangoes. The mangoes really shine in both the nose and taste, majorly present on the finish. They complement the malt and hops well. Fruity, citrus hops and a good amount of malt backbone as this is a 9% DIPA.
