Per the label, the malt is beechwood smoked, and Tettnang and Stusselpalt hops are used for brewing.
appearance - has glass appeal. Hazy slightly brown golden hue with generous pale head and a bit of lacing.
Aroma - this is where the smokey quality is most evident.
Feel - substantial and lighty carbonated.
Taste - I don't have much experience with smoked beers but I expected more - perhaps unreasonably. Smokey quality is more of a suggestion than a flavor but it does linger on the tounge and isn't overwhelmed by the hops or yeast. Sugar is a listed ingredient but not obvious. Otherwise a decent strong pale.
