I believe this is the beer I had at the Fox pub in downtown Carson City - they called it High Sierra Amber Ale but also the High Sierra Irish Red Ale and looking on the High Sierra website, I find only this Irish ale.

It is a red amber, small off-white head that lasts a while.

Aroma is lightly roasty caramelly malt with light earthy hops.

Taste is similar, lightly sweet roasty caramelly malt with dry earthy hops with light bitterness that comes on just a touch more in the finish but it's pretty well balanced. It's not outstanding but it's a good beer, pretty well-rounded with enough sweetness and bitterness to be enjoyable and go well with a range of foods.

This location is death for anyone trying to make a commercial beer business it seems. Anyways, you know the standard line: Red ale pours red. Here its a bit darker of a red, so much so you could almost say it is brown. Poor head retention, you're left with just one of those 1/50" films. Aroma of red malt, earth and honey.

Taste is pretty much the same red ale your step dad made in his first batch with that instant beer maker you got him for Christmas as a kid. All the cararedmalt feels one can drink. IBUs pushing towards the high end of style, but I'll take it, give me something to counterbalance the maltyboi.

I don't know what I can really say beyond this didn't have any off flavors (careful on tap though). Label looks like it was made at home. Its a middle of the road red ale that might work on someone who doesn't like too much going on in their beer or drink.

The appearance had a dark red body, no head, no lacing. The smell had light caramel malts, nothing else. The taste was sweet, light caramel aftertastec dry finish. On the palate, it sat somewhat light, and semi-sessionable. Carbonation adequate for the style and for me. Overall, this is just a decent Irish Red, nothing to write home about.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy amber color with a bar pour's kind of slim white head. What lacing that did form was just a trickle and slid into the beer.
The smell had some light sweet nutty to caramel malts. Light toast and toffee show a light presence to coincide with some light citrus hops.
The taste was mainly sweet in the beginning by the malts and leads into a slight balanced bitterness due to the hops. A light lingering sweet to dry aftertaste leads into the finish.
The mouthfeel was about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed good.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good American Amber ale that I think I could have again.
