Growler fill at the Brewery tasting room. Poured a dark brown with a nice tan head. Seemed a bit thin for the high ABV. Smelled like oak, light coffee, milk chocolate and some barrel character. Taste followed the nose well. I still think it was a bit thin. The alcohol was not as pronounced as some higher abv Stouts in the category. I think it could use more coconut, vanilla and oak Barrel character. There was a little general whiskey character but nothing to write home about. Nice beer but I think the mouthfeel and taste could be dialed up a bit.
