A 330ml green glass bottle with a BB of April 2015. Acquired a little while back from a supermarket. Described on the label as a low calorie beer that undergoes complete fermentation; the ingredients include maize and Saaz hops.
A: Poured into a stemmed pilsner glass. A crystal-clear pale straw colour with light carbonation. Forms a decent head of frothy white foam that lasts for a minute or so before collapsing and dissipating.
S: Aroma of faint malt with hints of husky grain, stewed leaves, overdone veg and a twang of DMS. Subpar, even for a light lager.
T: Tastes of faint, watery malt with a dry finish. Notes of husky grain, stewed leaves, overcooked veggies, faint corn and a twinge of harsh cardboard. Highly attenuated, followed by a restrained, dry bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is light, dry and tingly, with spritzy carbonation and a thin, watery body. Reminiscent of mineral water. Slightly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of ultra-faint malt, stewed leaves, vague cabbage water and acrid cardboard.
O: Weak sauce. An unimpressive macro product masquerading as a microbrew. Looks OKish, however the aroma and flavour are bland and tainted by mild off-notes. Watery body. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Not brilliant and not worth your while - spend your money on something else.
