Color is dark, almost a bit brown. Nose is fresh and clean. Taste is a bit bitter with a lingering cola taste. Good beer, would like to have more hop florals.

Picked up at Shell station in Little Rock, AR. No sales receipt but < $ 10/six pack.
Unreadable date on can. Stored in cooler in stop ‘n’ rob, stored at 42 degrees in my reefer, and served at 42 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Aroma – Weak citrus, fades to nothing.
Head – Large (Maximum five cm, aggressive pour), off white, average density, average retention, diminishing to a three to five mm ring and a rocky partial layer.
Lacing – Poor. Isolated islands and archipelagoes of tiny to small bubbles.
Body – Light orange, opaque.
Flavor – Light bitter with a hint of citrus and malt. Well balanced. No alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate – Light, watery, lively carbonation.
Impression: A very pleasing easy drinking APA, not so aggressively hopped as many.
Appearance 3.75, Aroma 3.5, Flavor 4, Palate 4, Overall 4.

Lost Forty Pale Ale has a thick, creamy, old ivory-colored head, a murky, orange appearance, lots of bigger and powdery tan sediment, and heavy lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of pale malt and mellow hop oils. Taste is of the same, with white bread crust, mild hop bitterness, and a touch of citrus. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Lost Forty Pale Ale finishes medium dry and highly drinkable.

12oz can poured into a 16oz tumbler glass. Enjoyed on 10.20.16, reviewed from Tasting Journal.
The beer pours a hazy copper color, no activity in the glass with a foamy finger of white head, good lace and retention. The aroma is pleasant enough, piney hops, herbal and floral character with some hop spice, sweet copper and amber malts that offer a sweeter counterbalance to the hops. The flavors offer some crusty stale malts, piney hops, spiciness and earthy green character with tame bitterness and a lingering bread flavor that has some sweetness to it. The mouthfeel is good, medium body that coats well, fizzy and lively texture and a dry finish.
Verdict: A decent pale ale from Lost Forty, nothing remarkable or too exciting. Certainly a crushable beer that is fairly satisfying but easily forgettable in the large ocean of pale ales.

12oz can, served in a snifter glass.
Pours a dark caramel orange body, one finger white head, short retention, thin lacing. Smells of toffee, cereal grain, touch of lemon and citrus. Flavour is a bit of lemon, cereal grain, a bit of grapefruit, not too much resin. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied, good carbonation, refreshing without much bitterness. Good carbonation. Crisp. A fairly balanced pale ale, worthy of a local every day beer.
