Pours an effervescent amber with 3+ fingers of fluffy ivory colored head. Traces of head retention & lacing

S: Wet cereal, then musty grain as this warms

T: Faint caramel malt, leafy & faint woody hops up front, with plenty of dryness. Dryness, a touch sweet bready maltyness, a kiss of lime & grassyness as this warms. Finishes sweet dry & crisp

MF: Medium body, crisp carbonation, decent balance

Easy to drink but not a style that really works for me other than say with a burrito or some chips & nachos. Compares favorably to most Mexican Ambers I've tried

Got in a BIF from jdell15. 12 ounce can into lager glass, best before 1/18/2018. Pours crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big brown sugar, brown bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with light notes of nuttiness, caramel, citrus, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity of bready malts and light citrus/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big brown sugar, brown bread dough, and toasted biscuit; with light notes of nuttiness, caramel, citrus, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very mild herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of brown sugar, brown bread dough, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness/caramel, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity and robustness of bready malts and light citrus/earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Minimal dryness. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a great Vienna lager! All around great complexity and robustness of bready malts and light citrus/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter finish. Clean and rich Vienna malt flavors, with just enough hops to balance the sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Code on can is 06/19 651. Pours to a generous frothy buff head that falls to a thin layer. No lacing. Brilliant Amber brown color. Aroma is sweet aromatic roasted grains and slight note of herbal/ citrus hops. Flavor is malt centric with toasty Vienna malt and dry pilsner malts up front with a balance of soft noble hop bitterness. Toasty dry finish. This is yet another all around pleasing beer that should not be relegated to just a seasonal rotation.

Update: Won 2nd Place in Vienna Lager category @ GABF 2017
