High Praise begins with an herbaceous aroma and eases into delicious soft, pillowy malts. Spice notes lead right into a smooth, dry finish – proving some things were just fine back in 1679.

Pours an effervescent amber with a thumb of cream colored head. Average head retention & lacing

S: Some grassyness, a little juicy-fruit gum

T: Follows the nose, a little pineapple, booze, rubberbands & cloves up front, along with leafy hops. A little pineapple, more juicy-fruit, candi-sugar dryness along with leafy & grassy hops as this warms. Pretty dry finish with golden delicious apples and not much else

MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation

A pretty good take on the style, was hoping for a little more subtlety, boozeyness, a little to much

12oz undated can poured into a chalice at fridge temp 10.5% ABV. The beer pours mostly bright orange amber in color with very light brown head. The head recedes to a thin film and leaves some lacing. The aroma is sweet clove first with wisps of bubblegum & banana lying beneath. The taste is semisweet banana & candi sugar laden malt leading up to a clovey, white peppery, barely bitter and drying finish. The mouthfeel is full bodied with just less than medium carbonation. Overall good tripel & better Belgian Strong Pale Ale. A bit sweet and far less carbonated than most, but it all works for me. Thanks @russpowell!

Color of honey, smell of wild flowers, Belgian sugar taste, heavy on the alcohol, medium feel, overall delicious. You can never go wrong with Lost Forty. High Praise indeed!
