Lunacy Brewing Co. "Rocket Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout"
on tap at the brewery
Notes: Very dark mahogany brown body beneath a tan head that drops fairly readily but still manages to maintain a surface covering and leave some lacing behind. Peanut butter, dark chocolate, and roastiness in the nose. The peanut butter is much clearer in the flavor, fron to back. There's also some fruitiness that comes through as well. Median bitterness although it's listed at 59 IBUs. The peanut butter fades in the finish as the bitterness and an ashen roastiness rise. I appreciate that this isn't an in-your-face chocolate and PB beer and that you could enjoy more than one without becoming overwhelmed - unless, of course, you're a huge PB fan.
