Trenton Road Take Out is an interesting place. I spent about 35 minutes in there, largely in awe of the tremendous selection. At least 5 of those minutes were spent wondering how I could live less than 20 minutes from the place and never have stepped foot inside before.

In short...all sorts of stuff I can’t get in NJ. Russian River, Oxbow, Une Annee, Prairie, Perennial, etc. Prices are on the higher side of reasonable, but not outrageous.

The place is a bit of a mess though. I suggest looking at everything, because there are gems hidden all over.

Never had food here but heard its good. With that being said they have a great selection of beer here for great prices. A lot of rare finds and a helpful staff for the most part. My only critique is the freshness factor. They do keep bottles longer then they should but if you keep this in mind while you shop you have nothing to fear. Great place to grab a good beer on tap and shop for a six-pack or fill up growlers. Something they could totally use to improve their business is a crowler machine. Great Place for craft beer.

A great place for craft beer growing up in Fairless Hills. But I haven't been their in awhile since moving to N.E. Philly.

Went there the other day on the way home from work to see what it's like now. I was taken aback by the new warm single beer display they have in the middle of the store now, I'm assuming for a create your own 6-pack element to the store. (Completely unnecessary IMO)

Bought a sizer of Kenzinger and realized it was 3 weeks beyond its freshness date. So I took it back and complained and the staff told me that the date doesn't matter and the beer is fine. I asked for a refund and went to see if there was anything else I might be interested in. I checked out the Brooklyn Pilsner, which I realized was TWO months beyond its freshness date. I left and and went to The Craft Beer outlet in N.E. Philly, which is much closer to me and noticed that none of their beer was beyond the freshness date.

I understand that a beer distributor in the suburbs has less volume and is working with what they got, but don't sit there patronize me for wanting my craft beer to be as fresh as possible for maximum enjoyment.

I've heard about Trenton Road Take Out for a while now, but never had the opportunity to get out there until this past Saturday. I'm glad I finally did.

I had checked their website and saw they had Carton Boat Beer on tap, so I planned on a grabbing a growler of that along with my shopping. As I walked in the door with my growler, the girl behind the counter said "I bet you want the Stone Enjoy By that we just tapped". At that point, my internal GPS voice was recalculating, recalculating...

Anyway, great selection and prices were as good or better than most places. A bonus was the girl working there who was not only pleasant and helpful, but enthusiastic as well.

It's safe to say that I'll be finding the time to make TRTO a regular stop

Atmosphere - it is an odd little beer shop with a couple to tables and a TV, the locals are drinking big name beers probably laughing at me as I take an hour walking the aisles picking out beers
Quality - great selections the place is jammed with beer, they have beers that I never see in this area
Service – They are helpful and will look up beers to see if they are in the shop and then walk the aisles with you to find what you are looking for
Selection - large selection with beer that you don't see in the area
Value - I buy the beer I can’t find in NJ here, therefore the price is secondary, I think prices are OK

A) It's a glorious exercise in ordered chaos, plus a wisecracking group of regulars sitting at a picnic table watching TV.

Q) Everything I've gotten there has tasted like it's supposed to, so the storage appears to be solid.

S) Helpful, friendly, always available to make suggestions or give information. Will hold hard-to-get beers by request via their FB page - first come, first serve. Owner (Sir Mix A Six or "SMAS") is often present and always friendly.

Se) Broad, broad range for a store of its size - especially for those coming over from nearby NJ. SMAS will try to get you anything he's able to.

F) I believe they offer breakfast sandwiches, but I have yet to try.

V) Good pricing, not bargain basement, but certainly fair.

Unless you live in some glorious Fantasyland of beer stores, TRT is an oasis of goodness. I often go out of my way to stop there.

vibe/atmosphere: dont judge a book, nor a beer store by its cover. Inconscipious on the outside, delicious on the inside. You can hardly tell its a liqour store from the outside, step within and its the best little bottle shop in levittown. Your vibe level goes up when you see how much craft beer is crammed into such a small area.

Quality: good quality of upper echoleon choices, your trappist, german style and American offerings Bruery, Alesmith to name a few. Orderly with a mesmerizing offering of bottles tightly packed, no dust, very clean presentation. Your everyday craft as well $20 bombers of BA stouts.

Service: Friendly, knowledgable, both the owner and stocker knew what was on floor. Retrived boxes for my large order.

Selection: Very good selection, some of the Canal stores in 1/3 the square footage. 6-7 Shelfing units with tons of loosies and a small selection of bombers. About a 80% - 20% split which makes for some good bargins and averageing down. Being from NJ there is a vast selection (about 10-15 breweries) not offered across the river, Bells, Nebraska, Cigar city, Alesmith, are the prime canidates worth the trip. Dark horse, twisted pine, duck rabbit, and duclaw are also notable offerings not found on NJ shelves (at least in southern and central that i visit). The place seems to be heavy on the ipa offerings so if your a hophead, most of all the breweries have thier ipa staple available. Russian River used to be offered here but only recently discontinued due to supply/demand issues. Sorry i missed out.

Price: Most of the small packages (12oz) are priced right in the $2 range.Bombers were typically 8-$10 range with exception of course Nebraska and Bruery which range in the $20's. I picked up 30 bottles, mostly ipas, with 3 bombers of Alesmith and 27 loosies for $90 which i though was very reasonable.

Overall: great values, great selection, especially for those in NJ looking for something new and unavailable in thier area. Crammed with lots of breweries ive never heard of before. Good things come in small packages and Trenton rd takeout offers a vast selection for everyone in a one stop shop. They seem to rotate stock alot and are always bringing in new offerings so check back often. Website and facebook will give you a heads up to what is available. A hidden gem, worth the trip & worthy revisit.

Great prices and they do not mark up the hard to get beers. but you will have to reserve the limited beers here as they rarely hit the shelf. Also i like the facebook updates on what is coming into the store. If the owner (aka sir mix a six) is available he will make recomendations though they they would be from word of mouth because i dont think sir mix a six doesnt drink beer but still a very nice guy. There are plenty of singles to mix a six and they also drop prices on seasonals that are hanging around a little to long.

Trenton Road Takeout looks much different than a lot of bottle shops in Philly/the burbs. It resembles a expanded mimic of the 10th street Foodery with some snacks, chips, etc, surrounded by beer, but much larger. There is a small seating area in the middle. this place sells smokes, lottery tix, etc. There is a lot to see.

A lot of BMC and a lot of craft, much like some recent bottle shops that have popped up recently. 40's, bombers, sixers and singles. a good selection of craft represented in SEPA. TRT seems to just rip off the top of the case and let you go for it as to the amount of bombers you want. A singles selection with some locals and some gems.

I asked the Store clerk if they had any Boon Gueuze 2007 left in stock that i recently saw on facebook and he replied back with 'Boon Who?' Pretty much what i was expecting so I just looked around and eventually found it. A good selection of beer here for some pretty good prices.

I had to meet someone for an in person trade, so I figured this would be a good place to meet. Coming from Monmouth county, it took me just about an hour to get there.

From the outside, the place really doesn't look like anything special. The same can be said for the inside, however, you're not coming here for looks.

The beer selection was quite impressive. They have a huge selection of loose singles, and will provide you with six pack holders so you can mix-a-six without really any mark up on the bottles. Bottles were ranging from around $2 to $4 or so depending on what it was. They also had a lot of larger format bottles, either on the shelves or in cold cases. There was a pretty good selection of gift packs with glassware if that's something you'd be interested in as well.

We get a lot of breweries distributed to NJ, but there were several beers that I was able to pick up that I normally would not have access to. Some that come to mind would be Bell's, Dark Horse, Cigar City, Alesmith, Russian River, Central Waters, Great Lakes, as well as a few others that escape me now. They also had some of the Eclipse 50/50 series. The store manager immediately came over when he saw us browsing and asked if we needed any help. Usually I'll pass, but I did let him give me a few recommendations, as well as some new arrivals. I picked up a Coronado Idiot IPA that he said just came in and it was super fresh!

Like I mentioned before, the single selection was priced very reasonably. I don't remember exact pricing on bombers, but they didn't seem out of line. I also don't mind paying a dollar or two more for something I can't usually get.

Overall, I thought they had a great selection and I would definitely go back to TRT when I'm looking for things I can't get in NJ. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area.

Oh, TRT. Been my go to place for a while now, so I figured it was about time for a review.

A - Kind of a dive-y place, but it doesn't bother me. I couldn't care less what a place looks like if they have good selection, prices, and staff...which TRT has in spades.

S - Absolutely top notch. Mike, the owner, is a great guy and always willing to help. If he can get a beer and you want it, you can be sure that it will be on the next beer truck to the store. Whenever I've gone there I've always been asked if I needed help finding anything.

S - I'm going there later today to pick up 6 bottles of 50/50 Eclipse and Firestone 15. Like I said, if he can get it, he will. I am fortunate to live in an area with a lot of great distributors, and TRT seems to have a relationship with them all.

V - Very reasonable prices. The most I have ever seen anything over other places is about $1. Usually has the best prices around.

Definitely a great place if you live in the area. Follow them on Facebook to find out what they're getting in, and when.

Let me start by saying this place titles itself the "King of Craft Beers", so this set my expectations some what high.

I am from Ohio and temporarily living in NJ so I made the trip to Trenton Road Takeout because I had heard some good things. I specifically was looking for Ballast Point, RR, and Port Brewing beers.

This place is a complete dump and looks like shit. Regardless, I was appalled to find Port Brewing beers on the shelf that were nearly a year old. One of the employees came over and asked me if I could be assisted, I asked if they carried any fresh Port Brewing beers...he said "No" and just walked away.

It is also worth noting that you will not really find much rare stuff here unless you follow them on facebook. This is because they allow online reservations for all rare beers.

Overall, I came out with a RR Redemption and a Ballast Point Big Eye sixer (no freshness/bottled dates printed...but i had to at least justify my trip to TRTO).

Won't go back. Not sure how this place has a somewhat decent reputation either...

Stopped in for the first time a few years since I moved from the area. I was seriously impressed by how much they have upgraded their selection. A large stock of really good stuff available in sixers and singles - Founders, Great Lakes, Victory, The Bruery, Russian River and much more. I left with sixers of Firestone Jack Union and Lil Sumpin Wild. Service has always been good here. A younger guy asked if I needed help right away - he was knowledgeable about beer and their inventory. The prices were really not bad compared to most places like this in PA. I hold Wegman's up as the benchmark for six pack/bottle shops in SE PA and this place beats it in selection and only falls short in price just a bit.

One of my favorite shops for singles & six packs. Great selection: Russian River, Cigar City, Ballast Point. Port/Lost Abbey to name a few- plus they just started carrying Founders products. Prices are very reasonable. They have a website & Facebook page which are always updated with New Arrivals, specials, etc. Very unassuming from the outside, and definitely no frills on the inside- I'd driven past this place many times before actually stopping in, but I'm glad I finally did. Staff is always helpful, and the owner seems like a really good guy. Definitely the best bottle shop in the Levittown area.

EDIT: Just wanted to update this review to reflect that they now also accept credit cards; previously cash only.
Edit2: They have an awesome tap set up for growlers now. 6 taps, great prices/selection. Will fill any growlers: 64/32/16.9 oz

From the outside the store doesnt look like much but once you step inside you may be pleasantly surprised. The store was very easy to get to coming from NJ and the selection made the distance a non issue. They carry many brands that are not available in NJ. I was approached and asked if I needed any help pretty much right away and the guy working was able to help me find exactly what I was looking for.The prices were very reasonable for the beers I purchased compared to other bottle shops in the area. This will be my new out of state stop for brands I cant get around here.

This is the local six pack place with a decent craft selection. It's not the most inviting place in the world but they do carry some interesting beers. The one time I did get a chance to go to this place it was pretty decent. I got a nice Belgian bottle for a good price and as a whole the prices at this place are very reasonable. The service was fairly good, I believe they asked if I needed anything a few times but not in an annoying way. It's a little lacking in some areas, atmosphere, selection etc. It's not bad though, they get a good amount of current releases in and they update their facebook regularly. Overall it's a good place but nothing I'd brag or recommend to people.

Very impressed with the selection of craft beer here. There is probably as much amount of fridge space dedicated to craft/imports as there are to the macros which is impressive for a take out place in Levittown. Lots of big bottles and plenty of cold six packs. There are a few cases in the store and some shelves have room temperature bottles. One worker there (may have been the owner) discussed craft beer with me while I was browsing. From that convo I can tell he is very dedicated to the craft beer industry and seems like that is what he himself exclusively drinks. He had a lot of recommendations for me even though I already had picked out what I bought (Dark Horse Double Crooked IPA 4pk). The atmosphere takes a hit as the place is crowded with cases of beer on the floor so walking space is limited.

I do love this place. The only take-out store I will go into around the area. The place itself doesn't look all that great inside or out but what it lacks in those area's makes up for in the selection. They always get back via email or messenger ASAP if I have any questions. If you are in the area stop on in and don't be intimidated of how much they have. You will always eventually find something. Lately they have really amped up the selection plus added a growler station. I am finding thing's that I wouldn't normally find anywhere around the area.

I was surpised when my brother took me hear on a beer run for a picknic. From the outside it doesn't look like anything. The inside doesn't reveal much more. Referidgeration cases line almost every wall. Closer inspection you see that there is an impressive array of beers.

I was searching back and forth every case deciding what to get. My brother, who isn't into beers, stood by patiently while I tried to explain the different breweries. I was finally able to find some of Stone's bottles. We got a bottle of Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale and a six pack of Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse...oh yeah and some soda for the kids.

Service was good. I was told that they would try to order anything I didn't find. They even have a web site at www.TrentonRoadTakeOut.com.

I've only been in there once so I cannot speak on how fresh the stock is, but what we purchased seemed good.

This is one of those hybrid places in PA. It's really a deli, but it has a surprisingly good selection of beer that you can actually take out of the fridge yourself and drink onsite. There's no bar, but a few tables where some locals were watching TV and smoking what seemed like a carton a piece.
Atmosphere was dirty and the beer fridges were unorganized, but prices were good, and the selection was impressive for the area. No need to go out of your way, but if you live in lower Bucks County check it out.
