Our "Ammo Bocks" dunkles bock that we 'cold-brewed' with Treasure Valley Coffee! Coffee porters and stouts are great, but check out this coffee bock with the biscuit and toffee notes in this complete 'brew.'

Crowler from brewery. Copper colored pour, beige head. Dark malts tinged with coffee make up the aroma. More coffee in the taste, dark malts and some savory notes.

a neat darker bock done with cold brewed coffee, not a style i have seen played around with much in terms of extra ingredients, i was pleased with this, as i have been with just about all of the bear island stuff so far. a lightly hazy mahogany color to this, short but frothy head, looks a little raw but unique in color. aroma is coffee heavy, with a bit more nutty sweetness from the grain than more traditional bocks, sort of caramelized or even candied to me. less german than anticipated on the yeast to me here too, but nice cocoa notes and plenty of the coffee, espresso-esque, nice, and definitely unique. the flavor is way less sweet than it smells like it will be, good malty depth, fresh baked, the coffee still in front of everything else, but the grain and coffee work super well together. i definitely want more from the yeast, its obviously a lager, but the old worldy german character i wanted isnt really here, this would be dull i think if it werent for the coffee addition. the coffee is high quality, has zero acidity, and very low bitterness, its a great add in this recipe, and makes this almost cozy and wintery to me. fuller bodied but not heavy, just a touch sweeter than it needs to be through most of it. nice beer though, another cool one from bear island, and nice for this time of year!
