Appearance: Pours a crystal clear auburn color with an impressive bubble show that builds a two finger head; strong retention and splashy lacing
Smell: Caramel aromatics with fruity undertones
Taste: Caramel flavors forward with some fruity tones; some lager twang in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation
Overall: WIth the beer being called a DunkelsBock, I was expecting more of a Munich Dunkel character than I got
Thanks, JohnGalt1, for the opportunity

Taster at Growler guys. Medium amber, small ring of foam. Aroma and taste are caramel. Dryness too. More of an amber or Vienna. Was looking forward to a straight up bock. This isn't it.

this is super good bock, awesome for the fall, sturdy but not heavy or sweet, and really well refined, a quality level that would be near the very top of their lineup, although i feel like they have pretty much been constantly improving since they started out, great to see that work and progress manifest itself in something that is both traditional and unique, and technically extremely well done. deep amber color on this but short of brown, high shine and good clarity, an inch of creamy khaki head rests on top the whole pint, really a nice looking pour. it smells a little less german than expected, both in terms of the malt profile and the lager yeast, somewhat minimal on the european front, but i get some nice toasted bread crust flavor, a little raisin and fruit leather, not quite meaty, not as big as some, but autumnal and hearty, very appealing, even warming. the flavor follows, wonderful freshness to the malt that we never see from the imports, a maple note, some breadiness to the yeast too, but still less german and obviously lagered than anticipated in this style. good medium body, majorly smooth, nice with smoked foods, feels full of nutrients on its own, i could probably live off of this. really dialed in and delicious, one of their best beers to date from an objective quality standpoint. yum, perfect for the fall!

On-tap in Nampa ID; served in a nonic.
A: Clear amber/brown body with a fluffy off-khaki head that laces fairly well.
S: Lots of toasted and nutty impressions of malt with a clean and fruity lager yeast complementing that.
T: Brown bread crust; freshly toasted malt; nutty; impressions of unsweetened cocoa and chocolate and even some banana, which could be the yeast or even the sweetness of the bready malt.
MF: A lighter-bodied, clean-drinking lager.
O: As far as traditional Bocks go, this is very enjoyable and well-executed.
