Pours the color of cranberry juice. Nose is acidic. Taste at first bites the back of the palate, then softens as quickly. Has a bit of cinnamon in the after taste. Good beer for a hot day.

Tastes just like cherry limeade, tart, quenching, wouldn’t want to drink too many at once but a great summer beer.

One of the biggest fears of the younger beer drinking contengency is being "iced" by their peers. But with a lot of those same flavors intact, the sour ale that's infused with cherry and lime have that certain wine cooler-ish taste that we always like (but pretend that we don't), but in the most beery way possible.

Their Batch #029, or better known as Cherry Limeade Sour, pours with a soft mauve and ruby color. Cast in a slight wheaten haze, the frothy ale rises with a modest pink foam. Tantalizing aromas of cherry, lime and a light winey spice mingle on the nose while its sweet taste is equal parts cereal, sugar and sourdough.

As the ale opens up on the middle palate, its sweetness relaxes and its bold cherry flavors quickly take control of flavor. Its backdrop of lime brings the underlying sour flavors of lemon, gooseberry and green apple and grape and those of black cherry together for a seamless, harmonizing fruit-forward flavor. A light spice of hops and vinous acidity is just enough to take an edge off of the lingering sweetness and fruit in a most sangria kind of way.

Medium light on the palate, the sour ale leaves a light film of sugars behind and creates a track of candied aftertaste. Its acidity isn't enough to wash away the sugars completely and leaves the textures slightly unfulfillled, but not nearly as bad as those "ice" malt liquors.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy medium orange/amber, light reddish/pinkish color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy cherries, limes, lemon, orange, fruit skin/pits, citrus peel/zest, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape, hay, straw, grass, wheat, graham cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, cherry, lime, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big sour/tart/tangy cherries, limes, lemon, orange, fruit skin/pits, citrus peel/zest, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape, hay, straw, grass, wheat, graham cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy cherries, limes, lemon, orange, fruit skin/pits, citrus peel/zest, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape, hay, straw, grass, wheat, graham cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, cherry, lime, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness, and tangy fruit balance with no puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, acidic/tangy, fairly crisp, and lightly tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is an outstanding fruited sour ale! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, cherry, lime, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to dink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish. Not overly lactic. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Awesome balance of juicy/fairly jammy cherries, vibrant limes, Lacto, and wheat/oat/malts against acidity. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example as expected.
