Brut IPA with Oranges
Mimosas, the great equalizer. It doesn't matter who you are, chances are you love mimosas and if you're drinking them you're going to end up way more day drunk than you expected. We love them so much, we decide to make that delicious bubbly concoction into a beer. We took a brut IPA, super dry, with mild bitterness and danky herbal hoppiness, and added in a bunch of oranges to give it a nice tropical sweetness. This lil lady is balanced, juicy, and hoppy. Clocking in at a deceptive 8% ABV it also that that mimosa ass kicking potential that everyone wants for brunch.

Pours a brownish orange in color I found this a little weird. Nose is nothing but ORANGES. Taste leaves a lot to be desired. Glad I tried it once, but wouldn’t again.

Designed to combat the wave of haze that's taken over the craft beerscape, the Brut IPA is expected to reestablish the norm of bitterness, dryness and herbal flavors to even a greater extent than West Coast IPA. But Nowhere in Particular brings an element of juiciness from the New England styled IPA and introduces it to the Brut.
Pale gold and reasonably hazy, their Mimosa IPA (Batch #30) pours with a bubbly attitude in a spritzy froth. Its radiant scent pops on the nose with citrus fruit, vinous spice and an herbal bouquet of grasses, herbs and botanicals. Its taste is light, crisp and succinct with barley malt in a light honey and caramel granola kind of way.
Once the carbonation carries off the sweetness, the bold citrus taste of orange, lemon and pink grapefruit leap right out. Drying quickly, its citrus taste is more of the peel, pith and rind of the fruit rather than the juiciness of its pulp. Slightly melon-like, the taste extends into a peppery resinous bitterness that glows with fresh cut grass, parsley, pine, sassafras and green tea.
Medium light on the palate, any expected sweetness is a distant memory on the late palate. A tight grip of hop spice and fruit pectin has a bitter and astringent balance in finish with a long aftertaste of fresh pine shavings and a pep of gin and wine.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released. Pours very hazy golden orange/amber color with a small fairly dense and fluffy off white head with poor retention, that reduces to nothing eventually. Minimal lacing on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, oranges, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness; and light orange tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, oranges, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no astringent hop/fruit flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and fruit tang/tartness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately grainy/sticky, fairly resinous/rindy, and lightly acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is a delicious fruited brut IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, oranges, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean/refreshing to drink for the ABV; with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Feels like Columbus, Centennial, Cascade, Simcoe hops. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops/oranges; with a nice solid malt backbone, and no residual sweetness from crisp resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering; and well made spot on style example. Great balance between hops and oranges.
