Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours very hazy, medium golden straw with a fine, one finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and tropical hops, orange, pineapple, lemon, mango; a little spicy. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and tropical hops, lemon, pineapple, grapefruit, mild mixed tropical fruit; a little subdued until the finish which has a decent citrus rind bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A respectable hoppy hazy, with good pineapple flavor, otherwise citrus dominates. Both the citrus and decent level of finish bitterness make this an enjoyable hazy for me. Not too complex and moderate in hop herbal flavors. I was happy to find this can, because although hazy IPAs are a mixed bag for me, Category 12 is mostly a wild/sour beer brewery and I was happy to find something to my taste to review.
