Bottle poured into a tulip glass. Label says it had brett in it, so I'm wondering if it's infected and they just labeled it that way.
A: Pours pitch black with a tan colored head, big head formed and the beer exploded when I uncapped it, began foaming out of the bottle, strange. Lots of carbonation.
A: Something's off, smells kind of like an imperial stout but then it has this old musty smell to it, like a closet that's been closed for years. Not getting any barrel at all.
T: Not good, touch of imperial stout like characteristics with coffee, dark chocolate then quickly changes into a long, sour, tart finish, very dry, lots of leather and tannin, aftertaste is really sour, no bourbon barrel presence at all.
M: Very thin, lots of carbonation with a really dry finish.
O: Looks good but it's not what the label says it is. It's definitely infected and the sour notes are unbearable, the sourness really lingers, not good, drain pour.

Clearly infected.. Foamed up like crazy and smells really weird. Tastes good, though! It's the strangest thing. No tartness at all. Nice, deep flavor with a ton of oak. This beer had a lot of potential.

This doesn't feel like a BBA Double/ Imperial Stout. Not sure if the bottle was infected or what but this is thin, overcarbed and possibly a little tart. It's not thick, creamy or viscous. If you sold this to me as a BBA Ale... i'd believe it. Just not what I expected.

Tastes more like a sour brown than a barrel aged stout. Interesting.
