First review of this beer on BA. Thanks to leftpaw for bringing it on out. There might be no cooler motif for a brewery than the inside of Phantom Carriage.
Wild ale with nectarines and raspberries. Pours a kind of murky amber color. Minimal head, 1/5" off white. Aroma hit much better, definitely more nectarine than raspberry. While its nectarine, it also gives off some apricot vibes.
Taste is nice, I can see what the raspberry is doing, giving a counterpoint, both in terms of taste, but also the mouth feel, giving it more dryness. Nectarine still pushing around the most weight, works well just like apricot does for a wild ale.
The sourness level here is elevated beyond what your average wild ale brings to the table. Acidic, yeah, dem nectarines too. its pretty clean in terms of funkiness, clean lacto sour I'm thinking.
I think Phantom Carriage usually charges $15/375ml for wild ales. They're all good, but tough to make repeat purchases of at that bread level. 7.5% abv.
